Police mentioned they were notified by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Officers say they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then found numerous other smeared cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police say preliminary tests show the substance was likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; officials are presently not informed of any harm in association with the event," they added.

City officials announced they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have requested to the public for details.

A high-ranking official commented the attack made him speechless and had to be resolved rapidly.

"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, referring to the death of nine victims by a assailant targeting people of migrant background in 2020.
