Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, demons, and dark forces growing in power within the city.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to begin their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might appear mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the party enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the other eight participants to form the Questers and Planners groups.
Audiences can expect learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
