Iran Says It May Rejoin US Nuclear Negotiations provided that Treated with 'Dignity' and 'Honor'

Tehran is willing to restart nuclear talks with the United States on condition that it is handled with "respect" and "respect", Tehran's foreign minister has stated.

The Iranian diplomat declared solely negotiations produced results, and revealed fresh requests had been made by mediators to reopen negotiations with the Trump administration. He asserted Iran had zero undeclared nuclear sites, and Iran had not yet reached a point to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency to inspect attacked atomic facilities for safety concerns.

Navigating a Challenging Route

Araghchi is treading a difficult route since Iran aims to avoid be perceived to be proceeding from a stance of weakness, and he insisted repeatedly that Iran had emerged stronger in military terms and emotionally from the Israeli-US attack on its nuclear sites in June.

He was speaking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "a fundamental entitlement to refine atomic fuel on home soil that it will perpetually retain" – the main reason of the impasse in the earlier negotiations.

Previous Discussions Abruptly Ended

The previous five rounds of discussions between the United States and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and acrimonious end on 12 June when the Israeli government, with US support, attacked Iranian nuclear sites in a 12-day war that culminated with the US president asserting the locations had been destroyed. Following this, Western states employed their right to reinstate UN-wide sanctions, but Iran insists they have not had a major impact.

Ideal Resolution Suggested

Tehran representatives stated they felt they had attained a "magic solution" to the enrichment issue in earlier negotiations, when it was decided an domestic cooperative with American involvement could refine atomic fuel. Both sides would have been able to assert triumph since local refinement would have remained and the US could be assured that Iran's enrichment initiative was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been settled in the discussions that Washington's technical specialists could work within Iranian territory, but that was a natural consequence of the consortium proposal. Officials claimed repeatedly they had reached agreement with Trump's special envoy the American negotiator only for the deal to collapse due to "spoilers in Washington".

Existing Position

Tehran representatives declared the consortium offer was now off the table, but it seems quite possible the offer could be resurrected in some form if talks resume.

The American leader recently said he had been getting signals that Iran wanted to restart talks, but privately Tehran representatives say they are not yet obtaining clear proposals from America either straightforwardly or from key regional mediators, such as the Qatari government, Egypt, the Omani authorities and Saudi Arabia. The Iran's state department has been criticized of passivity in the face of Washington's unmediated tactics, but Tehran says diplomacy is not part of a show.

Political Position

In his address to the conference, aimed to portray the US as a controlling nation that abuses the idea of worldwide standards, Araghchi declared the fortnight-long engagement demonstrated the conflict could not be resolved by combat operations. He said the strikes commenced with a US demand for an total Iran submission and culminated with an unconditional call for a truce.

Iran is convinced the first strikes by Israel were executed with complete American awareness and coordination, making confidence challenging to restore.

Dialogue Stays the Final Resolution

The foreign minister stated: "Tehran was not the one that had abandoned negotiations; it was America and the European states that had consistently attempted to enforce their desires during the discussions. Dialogue can still be active and continues the ultimate resolution to address disputes, but its standards, guidelines and principles must be followed."

"If they talk to the citizens of Tehran with the approach of respect and respect, they will obtain a reply in the equivalent language."

Repair and Reconstruction

In what is described by Iran's diplomats as the conflict of repair and rebuilding, the foreign minister said he was assured Iran's military capacities "have significantly improved than before 13 or 14 June of this year. Every aspect of our defense have been restored. We gained numerous insights from this engagement; we have come to know our own weaknesses and the vulnerabilities of the opponent."

He added: "We managed to survive this engagement. Our enrichment knowledge, which they planned to obliterate, stays intact. The installations and equipment, if eliminated, will be reconstructed; what is crucial is the resolve of the Iranian people and then the social solidarity that they sought to undermine, but did not succeed to break. The Iranian people have developed more resilient, more integrated, and more backing of the government and the state in the face of this invasion."
